The project is defined as the non-routine and non-repetitive one shot undertaking task requiring the engagement of various resources and skills. It is of time-limited and goal oriented. The various smaller tasks comprise of activities. And, the various activities comprises of a project which consumes different resources. The various resources used in the project are the man, material, money and time.To identify a project, we should know the different phases of a project. The first phase is a pre-construction phase, the second phase is the construction phase and the last phase is the post-construction phase. In the first phase, the project is conceived. Then, the pre-feasibility studies are carried out. This process is also called project appraisal. Here, the detailed feasibility studies are carried out to make a final decision. After that, the detailed design of a project is made to make a procurement process.
Similarly, in the construction phase, the mobilization is carried out by the contractor. the various construction process and construction supervision are done in order to complete a project. In some cases, the project design is also modified. Different testing and commissioning of a project are done by the authority before the handover of a project.
And, there is an introduction of a maintenance period in the post-construction phase. Here, the various tasks carried out are regular, preventive and emergency maintenance in order to make a project suitable for the best outcome.

1. All project must have its objectives defined. Then, only it is suitable to carry out. The project without objectives and goals can't be carried out.

5. Some project has a long lifespan whereas some have short. The main thing is that the project is a one time only set activities as we know.
6. All project runs within the constraints of cost, time and quality performance.
7. Most of the projects are contract based. Some are of subcontract based too.
8. The project manager integrates the various resources like financial, human & information resources with minimum waste.
9. Every project has beneficiaries who use the project output.
