The Birthplace of Lord Buddha
There is no doubt that Lord Gautam Buddha- the apostle of peace was born in Nepal. Buddha was born in 623 BC in Lumbini Nepal, which is one of the holiest places in the World. The birthplace of Lord Buddha was testified by the inscription on the pillar erected by Emperor Asoka.Lumbini is being developed as a Buddhist pilgrimage center where many people who follow Buddhism visit in a huge amount every year.

The archaeological area in the birthplace of Lord Buddha includes the Maya Devi Temple, the Asoka pillar, the Shakya Tank, and much more. The Maya Devi Temple there consists of brick structures dating from the third century BC.
The archaeological area includes the remains of Buddhist monasteries from the third century BC to the fifth century AD. According to UNESCO, the archaeological remains within the premises have been confirmed through a series of excavations since the discovery of the Asoka pillar in 1896. The remains of different monasteries and numerous layers of brick structures from the third century BC at the site of the Maya Devi Temple are evidence of Lumbini, Nepal being a center of pilgrimage.
It clearly proves that Lord Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal. The whole place is owned by the Government of Nepal. It is being managed by the Lumbini Development Trust.
The Lumbini development trust is an autonomous and non-profit making organization. And, the property site is protected by the Ancient Monument Preservation Act 1956.
The Government of Nepal announced the year 2012 AD as the Visit Lumbini Year 2012 where many Buddhist pilgrimage and tourists all around the World visited the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha.
There is fake news spreading in some parts of the World that Gautam Buddha was born in India which is totally a fake rumor. People all over the World must not confuse about the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. The different pieces of evidence above clearly point out that the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha is Lumbini which is one of the four holy places of Buddhism.
The other holy places are the sites of his enlightenment, first discourse, and death. All these events happened outside in nature under trees which is the reason why Buddhists have always respected the environment.
